GONE......

GONE!!!! I am still amazed how fast weekends go, I am still trying figure out how to have 4 day work weeks and 3 day weekends!!! There is not a lot of news to report, the girls had a game that conflicted with my beloved Buckeyes. It all worked out, we were home to see the end of the 2nd quarter. It has been a good football this weekend, the PHINS and BUCKS WON!!
Now, for the Steelers!! Here are some pictures of the girls and their weekend! Enjoy!!!
Allysa, Emily and Julia- they are becoming little ladies!!
Allysa and Julia sneak into the pictures of Ashlee and Ali. Can you tell Ali is our little "ham"!!
Here she is again- she was trying to do jumps but I always got the picture when she was landing instead of mid-air!!!
Of course, Ashlee wanted in on the action!
The girls doing their dance at half-time, they are perfecting it for their exhibition in Nov. Coach Jill and Brenda have done a nice job!!

Nothing New to Report....

Just so I do not get blasted for waiting to post a blog, here it is.
It has been another busy week- school, work, homework, cheering , gymnastics, piano and now I have to find two days a week to go to physical therapy. This cycle will not end until the 1st of Nov. and I am sure we will find a way to fill those days with other things. So, I try not to blog too much because the week and weekends are pretty routine the next few months.
Allysa will find out tomorrow if she will become part of Synergy- a student group made up of 4th and 5th graders that try to do community activities within the school like fundraising for "Make a Wish" or the "CF Foundation"(which all know is very important to us). She had to write an essay and have a teacher fill out a recommendation. There is only 30 spots so I have tried to tell her that if she does not get in this year, there is always next year and the good thing is she tried and we can keep our family fundraising for CF. It is always a balance- you want them to try to do anything and you tell them they can but then you have to balance it with the chance of disappointment. So, I am preparing her for both. Cross your fingers, I think this will be a good confidence booster for her and that is very needed.
Then we roll into another busy weekend 2 birthday parties, cheering and of course Buckeye and Steeler Football.
Also, if you are interested in a real heartwarming, tear jerking story see the Youngers -their link is one of my favorite blogs. It reminds you there is more to life. So, now I will sign of as I do at the end of every week.
GO PHINS
GO BUCKS
GO STEELERS

0 for 2.....

Well, the weekend did not go quite as expected. The Phins lost by one point 7 to 6. We have friends who have a son on the opposing team and needless to say there had been some trash talking earlier in the week. I felt really bad for the Hiles and Langs who were probably tortured later that evening. The good news, the local news did not mention a disturbance on Heirship Court. The weekend got worse( football wise) when the BUCKS decided not to show up to play. We new it would be tough but we were just hoping that if we lost then it would at least be by a respectable margin(NOT). Obviously the news and papers have not been gentle nor do I blame them and most of us are still recovering.
Now to salvage the weekend, my hopes are with the STEEELERS!!! Although there are a few who will be very happy if the STEELERS lost( you know who you are). However, they are playing in Cleveland and right now we are are under a major wind advisory courtesy of Hurricane Ike. Shingles are coming off roofs everywhere and many do not have electricity( we remain lucky). So, that will make the game even more interesting. Below are a few pics of our future BUCKEYES and a video of the Dolphin Cheerleaders.
The girls gave up and went to coloring and creating art work.

I will be off to Kansas tomorrow so everyone have a great week.

Three for Three

Since, I cannot carry much still , Kevin had brought my bag out to load into the car and then sat it down to run back in the house. So, off we went to the "burgh" only for me to realize 3/4 of the way that my bag was not there and was still in the garage where Kevin left it. We decided to turn around because shopping for all those items would have been more expensive.
Oh, I was hoping this was not an omen for how the whole weekend would go because at the same time we were listening to the Buckeye game and things were not looking so hot!!! Plus, as many of you know my luck has not been very good lately!

Amazingly, everything turned around!!! The Bucks got it together and won( not one of their better performances). We went to dinner and then Sunday was game time. It was an absolute perfect day for football and the Steelers did not let me down by beating the crap out of the Texans. I was impressed with how the looked so I am more optimistic about their season since they have one of toughest NFL schedules this year. When we got home we found out the NWFL Dolphins won too so that makes us 3 for 3 this weekend- not too shabby!

WAY TO GO BUCKEYES, STEELERS AND PHINS!!!
Enjoy the slide show from the Steeler game, my camera got some really good shots!!

The Weekend that Almost Never Was...

We had the most wonderful weekend but to the very day I was never sure it was going to happened. It was beginning to look like the " The Weekend that Would Never Be". Earlier in the summer sitting around with friends we decided over drinks it would be nice to plan a "No Kid" weekend. After searching for hours, finding a date that worked for everyone and of course babysitters(neither an easy task) we booked a cabin in Hocking Hills, Ohio.
I was smart enough to book both grandparents in case something happened then I had a back up plan and I new they would both be willing to watch our neighbor Sam since they have both adopted him as their grandson(the only one they will have).
As the date got close, we all could not wait!! Then in mid-July an unfortunate event took out one sitter and then a few weeks later potentially took out the other. It was looking like we may not go or we would really have to re-work the whole sitter situation which was not only a nightmare for us but Sam's parents!! I rarely talked of the weekend in fear of further jinxing it and I really was beginning to think we may have to give it up! It was no ones fault, everything happening could not be controlled but I was still BUMMED!!
I came up with a semi- back up to the back up plan hoping not to have to use. Then the week before my mom gave me some encouraging news on my Grandma and I was beginning to think it could happened but was still guarded!!
As the week began, I started to get hopeful and as everyday passed things looked brighter!
Friday arrived, I left work early and my mom was here for her weekend with the Girls and Sam.
Yippy, we were on our way and hoping that we made it until Sunday without anymore unfortunate family events!!!
I am pleased to say, it all went well. My mom enjoyed her time with her girls and her only boy! The kids enjoyed being spoiled by Nana and it will take me weeks to undo that!!! I think the fact that it was almost the weekend that never was makes it all the more special. Although the obstacles stressed me out (and others), I appreciate this time we had with our friends more!
There will be more to come on this weekend later this week when I have all the pictures!! Stay tuned!
