Catching Up, Yet Again!!!!

My plan of keeping up on blogging obviously is not working so I will try to get everyone caught up with what transpired since the 4th of July!!

Allysa- Started 7th grade at Memorial Middle School and already has experienced her 1st life lesson when she tried out for cheering and did not make but her BFF did!! It was rough couple of days but she came around. She has since decided to try again when they hold tryouts for BB cheering. Yes, we are dealing with Boys and I think we have a new boyfriend- UGH!!
Last nights conversation:
Allysa- "Mom can I ask you something".
Me- My usual answer when a she poses a question like this is "NO"!
Allysa -" Come on Mom"!! Then for the question " When was your first kiss"?
Me- In my head I am saying I am NOT ready for this. My response " I do not really remember, probably around your age"(although it might have been younger but no way was I saying that).
Then I ask "why"
Allysa- " I just wondered".
Me-"Ok, did you have your 1st kiss?" My
Allysa- " No my braces will be a problem( in my head I am saying THANK goodnes), but others girls have and more"!!!
Me- " What is more"?
Allysa -" You know"!
Me- You mean more than kissing, you realize that is not something girls your age should be doing and what it leads to"?
Allysa " Yes, Mom I am not stupid but some girls are"!!
Me- " That is nice to know"! In my head, I am still screaming- I am NOT ready for this and she is my Little girl!!!
Enough said - it should be an interesting year!!!

Ashlee- Started 4th grade and this year is not going to afternoon latch key. This is big deal for her especially when she wants to be so independent. Abbi, Alli and Ashlee all walk home together an then hang here. So far, it is working out wonderfully. She is cheering again and ironically this year it is for the Steelers!!

Me- Well I started off the end of July having to have my gallbladder out unexpectedly. This was not in my plans and ruined alot of end of summer plans!!! I am finally getting back to normal but still have to be careful with some foods. The biggest issue, I never know what food is going to send my system in a tailspin. The good news, it is good for the waistline!!!

Kevin- Kevin is Kevin. He is just trying to deal with all the girl drama and fact we had to get a new washer and dryer at the same time all my medical bills are coming in. I pretty sure he is looking forward to our trips to the burgh to see the Steelers!!

I would also like to take this opportunity to THANK all my family and friends who helped out by sending dinners or sending wonderful cards/gifts/FB messages during and after my surgery. I am BLESSED and LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Last- a slide show to catch you up with pics since July 4th!!!

Catching Up.......

Let's start this blog out on the positive.....

Ashlee
She is playing soccer for the first time ever. She was normally so sick in the winter/early spring that playing spring soccer was not an option. So, this year we took the leap and signed her up. The poor girl has had more games than practice because of the weather so learning everything has been a bit of a challenge. However, Coach Stephanie told me that she has been fairly impressed with her especially her aggressiveness and just getting in the game which is one of the hardest things to coach. Really, she just needs to learn the positions. She seems to do well on defense but offense is still a bit of struggle. The main thing is that she is having FUN!!!!

Allysa
I have Allysa in private tumbling as she prepares for trying out for cheering in Middle School( if the levy passes). Her Coach said that she has ALOT of potential and thought she should be ready by August!!! She also made honor roll for the 3rd straight 9 weeks!!!!
She attended her social which was an 80's theme. She looked adorable but was stubborn and would not style her hair nice and BIG!!! I tried to tell her the 80's was all about BIG hair :)!!!

A Funny starring Ashlee, Emma and Amanda
Amanda- Do you believe the Easter Bunny is real?
Emma and Ashlee- Yes
Ashlee- but I do not think he hops around in the house and how does he get here?
Emma and Amanda- Hmmm- not sure but I do not think he hops in the house either. S0, how about Santa. I am not sure the Santa that came to school was real?
Ashlee- I do, his beard was real.
Emma- I am not sure, Alli said she saw a string going around his ear and did not think he was real.
Me- Well, you all have to decide what you believe but is it worth the risk not to believe?
All- NO!!!

Other
As you know from the last post Amelia and Kaitlyn Wendel are now Beautiful Angels. Right now, our goal is to help Keith, Jen and Sam as much as possible. However, that is such a challenge because there is not much you can do but pray that in time healing will begin! I have to believe there has to be a balance between good and bad. So, my hope is that something special will be on the agenda for the Wendels!!!

Easter
Of course, today is all about what Jesus sacrificed for all of us and remembering how blessed we are. Again, the past few weeks have solidified that I am surrounded by the most AMAZING and WONDERFUL family and friends and I am VERY THANKFUL to have them all in my life. Today we have the Grandparents and the Langhursts joining us for dinner which makes this year EXTRA special! Happy Easter Everyone.

Last- enjoy the slide show of the last few weeks.

Catching Up.....

Obviously, I am behind yet AGAIN!!!! Time is just going faster than I can keep so let me see if I can get you all caught up!!!
We went to WV for Thanksgiving spent time with both sets of grandparents, went to movies and made sure we hit Drovers and DJ's. I was bummed we could not squeeze in DiCarlos :(
Next up, getting the house ready for Christmas! Both trees up and Ginger the kitty has done fairly well with not getting into them. It did help she was declawed and spayed so she has been on the calmer side.
Ashlee's b-day- she had a nice day but because it snuck up on me her kid birthday is not until Jan. Actually she is Ok with her. Part of the problem is her basketball schedule so I waited for that schedule then before I knew it was less than 10 days before her b-day. She is doing ok in b-ball. She is good passer but needs to work on defending and shooting. She is just not sure and is playing with mostly boys.
Allysa has been busy with school, she had her 5th grade play and they went across the US. They sang all the Big 10 songs but when they go to Michigan, well instead of singing there was alot of BOOING!!!! Guess, that is when you know you live in Buckeye country!
As far as football- the Bucks are on the way to the Rose Bowl to play the Ducks! Well, the Steelers have imploded!
Last weekend we had special visit from a highschool friend- Angie McBee. She was in town for her sons hockey game. They had some time to kill in between the games and before OSU/Mich hockey games. The boys had on their Michigan jerseys and the girls did not take that well and changed quickly into their Buckeye gear!
This week is JUST NUTS!!! The Lang girls spent the night so Jay and Brenda could go away for a night and next up the Hile girls!!!! Never a dull moment here!
The most entertaining thing was coming home to the 5 girls and asking why the photos of the girls with Santa were on the kitchen table. Let me give you some backstory- the Macy Day Santa came to their school for a special visit due all their fundraising. So, I ask why and had 5 girls tell me that there is NO WAY those are the real Santa because the real Santa was at the school. To add to it, today Ashlee told me it was the real Santa but the elves were fake. She said they were long hats to hide their human ears :)
For those wondering, YES Jonathan the elf finally arrived.
