Time to Reflect

It has been quite a 24 hour period and in that time I have been flooded with old memories and new memories have been created. Unfortunately, my Grandmothers passing is the catalyst for all this. Both my Grandmothers, Grandpa Mott and Aunt Kath were staples of my entire childhood and my adult life until the past few years. You just seem to think certain people will always around and I guess in some ways you take it for granted. I am not sure if God need more angels the last few years or if Heaven just needed some excitement either way he now has his hands full!
Although, it takes something like this to bring family/friends together. We got to see of family and friends we normally do not and even though there was sadness there was alot of laughter too.
Ashlee finally figured out that she does look like someone in the family. From the back, they alot look alike which is why my cousin Dana almost snatched up Ashlee thinking it was her daughter Maddy to ask why she changed clothes again!
Everything from their hair, eyes, teeth , dimples and build are a match! It was amazing to see this up close!

Meet " Raymond" and devilish may not even be the best word to describe him. He is my cousin Ray's son or for those who knew Aunt Kath her grandson and those two facts should explain alot! The first night he just glared at me and I told him his Grandmother trained me so eventually he would have to deal with me, with so many people around I decided not to push it.

Today, he warmed up to me and during the service, came up to where I was sitting got in my lap and gave me one of the biggest and longest hugs ever!

He decided he was going to stay up there with me on my lap. After a few minutes, he looked up at me (granted I had been crying on and off) and said " I pee outside", as I was about to ask " who taught him", he then added " Daddy does too".... Well, I could not hold in my laughter that was mixed with crying. I am not sure what others thought in regards to a burst of laughter in the middle of funeral but I am not sure anyone could hold it in if they had that exchange either.

I got to catch up with a few of my other cousins and realized how proud of each of them- Steph, Shaun, Kelli, Stef, Jen, Lee, Connie and Jackie! One of the biggest surprises was one of my cousins thanking for something I thought was no big deal at the time! I just did what I think anyone would do only to realize it had much more of an impact than I ever thought. I am very appreciative that she told me this! I am very proud the woman she has turned into!

I think that is enough reflection and story telling for one blog!
